All of us know about what is actually happening in China right now. The latest incident about “Tibet” case really put their dignity as an Olympic organizer in the big hole. But, China’s ambassador to Canada is warning the Harper government against interfering in Chinese affairs with “irresponsible” statements about the unrest in Tibet. Ambassador Lu Shumin said recent remarks from Canadian officials fail to recognize that China is attempting to restore safety and security in the face of what he called “violent crimes” by separatists in the Tibetan capital city of Lhasa.

China is facing mounting international condemnation of its crackdown against anti-government protests in Tibet and elsewhere. Clashes between demonstrators and Chinese authorities have turned violent, and estimates have put the death toll as high as 100. China’s state media say 19 have died. There also been widespread reports of arrests and detentions.

That was a hard time for them. Hope they can settle it in a professional way because Olympic is just around the corner!

Google Inc (GOOG.O: Quote, Profile, Research) on Thursday reported a disappointing quarterly profit and aggressive spending plans to support a widening range of Web services, unnerving investors who sent its shares down 8 percent.

The world’s top Internet company said it expected to continue to make “significant capital expenditures” after spending $678 million in the fourth quarter on data centers, computers and networks — well above analysts’ forecasts.

But Google executives said they were seeing no signs of deterioration of the U.S. economy in their own business and expect advertisers will maintain spending with Google even if they start to slash budgets.

“We have not seen any impact yet from the rumors of future recessions,” Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt told investors on a conference call, confronting fears that have clobbered Google shares and global stock markets in the past month.

But I don’t think Google will got an impact from this. Google is INTERNET and INTERNET is Google!

American military chiefs have been left dumbstruck by an undetected Chinese submarine popping up at the heart of a recent Pacific exercise and close to the vast U.S.S. Kitty Hawk - a 1,000ft supercarrier with 4,500 personnel on board.

By the time it surfaced the 160ft Song Class diesel-electric attack submarine is understood to have sailed within viable range for launching torpedoes or missiles at the carrier. See…it’s just a diesel-electric submarine!!!!

Wooooo… this is against the statement by the health experts in my previous post. I’m not sure why this they come up with this new statement, but I think they want to tell the world that the previous statement was wrong.

By 2050 about 60 per cent of men, 50 per cent of women and 25 per cent of children in the UK will be clinically obese - so fat that their health is in danger. At present around a quarter of adults are obese. The effects of this on the nation’s health will be devastating. The report expects type 2 diabetes to rise by 70 per cent, strokes to go up by 30 per cent and a 20 per cent rise in coronary disease.

The scary fact is “he rates of certain cancers will also go up!”

I think all the doctors will argue about this statement.Actually, health experts continue to bang on about obesity being bad for you, but clearly they haven’t spoken to the German man who survived falling from a balcony by landing on his belly.

Gerhard Steiner, 27, was heartily munching on a sausage on his hotel balcony in Bayreuth when he lost his balance and toppled over the edge. Mr Steiner fell more than twenty feet before crashing on to the ground, his fall broken by his ample girth.

It has sold for £4 million at a Sotheby’s auction in Hong Kong. This makes it the most expensive gemstone in the world, per carat, sold at auction. After intense bidding, the 6.04 carat, internally flawless blue diamond fetched £650,000 per carat. The buyer was Moussaieff Jewellers in London, which has a reputation for acquiring extremely rare and costly gemstones.

Man…. I wonder how much they will sell this blue diamond after this.

Remember Yang Yang?
As you can see in the picture above, she holds her one-month-old cub as they rest in their enclosure in the zoo in Vienna September 27, 2007. The cub was born on August 23, 127 days after panda couple Yang Yang and Long Hui mated in April, the zoo said. The pandas were transferred from China to Schoenbrunn Zoo in 2003, and are on loan to Austria by China for a period of 10 years.

I think this is what we called a desperate. But believe it or not, sometimes pressure will make us more creative than before. Like what you see at the picture above, those scarecrowes was built just to make sure the boars will not come to their “home” again.

Actually, after his crops were bullied by wild boars and crows for years, a local farmer has fought back and created a “family of scarecrows,” including a baby in a stroller and a child on a tricycle.

The 60-year-old farmer from Ayagawa, Kagawa Prefecture, created 10 scarecrows as well as a dog-shaped ornament in 2006. He added three more scarecrows this year. The scarecrows have proven a popular site in the area and damage to his crops has been greatly reduced.

Actually, this is true story from China. Nearly 500 children, from Maji village in Fugong town, Yunnan province, cross the most dangerous stretch of the Nujiang River each day.

The only reason why they doing this is just because of the knowledge. They fasten themselves to the cable with a metal carabiner and a rope and slide across the 200 metre wide canyon, reports the Beijing News.

The youngest student, A Qia, 4, has to go over by herself each day….!
