This is Chantelle Readman. She is 15-year-old singer but she has won an army of fans after her father secretly filmed her performing and posted it on the YouTube website. Almost one million hits have been made on the site of talented Chantelle Readman singing her favourite songs while playing keyboards in her home in Consett, Co Durham.
The modest schoolgirl has won praise from across the world, and even has fan sites dedicated to her - despite the fact she has no recording contract nor CDs to sell.
Chantelle recorded Michael Jackson’s Gone Too Soon in memory of her schoolfriend Ben Stirland, who died after choking on a pen top in January, aged 16. She has also been asked to sing at wedding after they have heard her version of Luther Vandross’s Dance with my Father.
Chantelle’s family have been contacted via email by several people offering to develop her talent, and her parents are weighing up the right route to take.
