This is the latest world’s biggest squid that cought by a New Zealand fishing boat. From my point of view, this giant squid was more bigger than the qiant squid that have been found at the Ogasawara Islands, south of Tokyo. It was reported that this specimen should entitled for the world’s biggest squid - 10-metres long and weighing 450 kilogrammes.

It was cought after eating a hooked toothfish when it was hauled to the surface of the New Zealand ship San Aspiring in the Ross Sea three weeks ago.

Frozen after being caught virtually intact, the male squid will be sent to New Zealand’s national museum in Wellington for scientific study.
